At Home with Teddy

A few members tore themselves away from the build up to the Monaco Grand Prix to drive into the Var for an alfresco lunch held at the home of Teddy and Sandra Pilette.

Club President Howden Ganley and Secretary Theo Huschek were there along with Assistant Secretary Agnes de Laborderie Carlier who was taking time off from her reporting duties at the grand prix.

It was good to see Club member Patrick Tambay who is at present writing a biography of his racing life, which, judging from sections we were allowed to read, will be a cut above the usual motor racing memoirs with some very down to earth opinions of motor racing during the big changes that took place in the 1980s.

Making his first visit to a GPDC event was new member Taki Inoue who raced for Footwork Arrows and who now lives in Monaco.

Teddy Pilette, who is Vice-President of the club, had another reason to celebrate as the lunch was held on his wife Sandra’s birthday.
