The late Jean Sage left a bequest to the Grand Prix Drivers Club for an award to be given to people who have made an exceptional contribution to the Grand Prix Drivers Club.
This year the award took place, appropriately, at the Monaco Grand Prix when the award was given to Monisha Kaltenborn, team principal of the Sauber Formula 1 team. Monisha has been an important member of the team since she became head of the legal department of Sauber fifteen years ago.
Born in Dehradum in India in 1971, Monisha moved with her family to Vienna and she gained her masters degree in International Business Law from the London School of Economics.
For the past year Monisha, however, has been assisting the Grand Prix Drivers Club with the legal redrafting of the Club’s constitution and the award was given for her important role in this task.
